A Memorial Service for Randolph Lofstedt of Roseau, MN will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 2:00PM at First United Lutheran Church in Roseau. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Randy Lofstedt was born, raised his family, and lived his entire life on the family farm. He passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family.

Randy was born to Andrew and Mary Annetta (Storey) Lofstedt on May 13, 1934, on the family farm just south of Roseau. He later purchased the farm, built a home with his wife, and raised his family there.

Randy met Arlys Erickson through Sharon Ziska. Arlys would stay at the Ziska home, and Randy’s brother, Robert “Pewee,” was dating Sharon. Randy and Arlys were married for 66 years.

Randy was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Roseau First Lutheran Church, now called First United Lutheran Church. He and Arlys were married there on June 21, 1958. Randy was an active member, serving as an usher and volunteering in various capacities.

Known for his strong work ethic, Randy operated a dairy farm, raised grain crops, and worked at Polaris in the welding department. For many years, he and Arlys woke up early to milk the cows before heading to work at Polaris. After their shifts, they tended the fields, milked the cows again, and maintained a large garden. He also worked for Nelson Ottertail Builders during the construction of the North Star Apartments. Handy with tools, Randy often helped neighbors and family with home improvements and various projects.

Despite their hard work, Randy and Arlys also knew how to have fun. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and taking snowmobile and ATV trips. Their travels took them to Alaska, Texas, Florida, Branson (MO), Arizona, and Nevada, and even included whitewater rafting in Montana. They were avid Roseau basketball fans and often had Timberwolves games playing on TV. As their grandchildren grew, they cherished watching them participate in sports.
