The Minnesota State Highschool League met in special session today, Monday September 21 2020 to discuss a return of Fall Sports to Minnesota High Schools
The board voted to start volleyball on Sept. 28 with 10 days of preseason practice. First competition on Oct. 8. 11-week season, 14 dual competitions.
The board also voted 15-13 to have Football Practice begin Sept. 28, first games Oct. 9-10, six-game regular season, two-week postseason, format to be determined.
Volleyball is expected to not have spectators. Also Football Games held at indoor facilities would not have fans attend. Under current Covid-19 guidelines from Minnesota Department of Health, no spectators are allowed to attend indoor events in school facilities (gyms, pools, etc.) and outdoor events are limited to 250 total spectators.
Winter Sports will be discussed in the October meeting.
