Warroad’s Boys’ Basketball team cruising past Wadeena-Deer Creek 81 to 40, while Red Lake County topped Northern Freeze 69 to 48.
In Girls’ Basketball, Sacred Heart secured a decisive 61 to 39 win over Crookston, with their JV team also victorious, 53 to 21. Other girls’ matchups saw Northern Freeze narrowly defeating Stephen to Argyle 51-49, and Fertile-Beltramee overcoming Climax-Fisher 56 to 50.
On the national scene, In college football, Notre Dame advanced in the National College Football Playoffs, defeating Georgia 23 to 10 in the Sugar Bowl.
In basketball, the Minnesota Timberwolves fell in a close battle to Boston, 118 to 115. In college hoops, the Minnesota Gophers struggled against Purdue, losing 81 to 61.
