EAST GRAND FORKS, ROSEAU AND WARROAD RAN ONE-TWO-THREE AT YESTERDAY’S SEVEN TEAM WARROAD INVITATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY MEET. THE RAMS’ SEAN O’CONNOR WAS 3RD INDIVIDUALLY, AND WARROAD’S JACK GOULET WAS 4TH. ON THE GIRLS SIDE, INTERNATIONAL FALLS AND EAST GRAND FORKS WERE FIRST AND SECOND; INDIVIDUALLY, ROSEAU’S LELIA JOHNSON FINISHED FIFTH.
FORMER ROSEAU HOCKEY COACH DEAN BLAIS HAS BEEN NAMED TO THE U.S. HOCKEY HALL OF FAME. BLAIS COACHED THE RAMS TO THE 1990 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, AND LATER COACHED A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA. BLAIS WAS ALSO SELECTED FOR THE ROSEAU ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME THIS YEAR.
THE OTHER 2020 U.S. HOCKEY HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES INCLUDE LONGTIME NHL’ER AND CURRENT UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN COACH TONY GRANATO; LONGTIME BOSTON UNIVERSITY COACH JERRY YORK; AND WOMENS HOCKEY GREAT JENNY POTTER.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR THE ROSEAU YOUTH HOCKEY SEASON.
