A Memorial service for Stanley H. Flick of Warroad, MN will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 3:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad, MN. Visitation will take place from 1-3PM at the Funeral Home.
Stanley Henry Flick, 84, of Warroad, MN, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025.
Born on November 9, 1940, in Warroad, MN to Casimir and Helen (Streiff) Flick, Stanley was a proud graduate of Warroad High School, Class of 1958. Following graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1959, serving four years of active duty and two years in the reserves, earning the Good Conduct Medal. His dedication to the Marine Corps remained throughout his life, often expressing his motto: “Once a Marine, always a Marine, Ooh-rah!! Semper Fi!!”
Stanley married the love of his life, Shirley (Boucha), on February 7, 1970, beginning a beautiful partnership that lasted 55 years. He was a dedicated employee of Marvin Windows for 37 years until his retirement.
An active community member, Stanley belonged to the American Legion and the Warroad Eagles Aeries #4195. He coached softball for several years, sharing his love of sports with younger generations. Stanley was passionate about the outdoors, finding joy in gardening, hunting, fishing, and canning. Above all, he cherished his role as a father and grandfather, dedicating his life to his family.
Stanley is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; children Phyllis Flick, Sue (Mike) Johnston, Janet (Ed) Charpentier, and Mike (Sarah) Flick; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Casimir and Helen Flick; stepmother Esther; siblings Anna Loebrick, Eleanor Flick, and William J. Flick; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family extends a very special thanks to the Bemidji Veterans Home, Silver Bay Veterans Home staff, and Bemidji Hospice for their compassionate care.
