Roseau County has 56 Positive Cases; with 0 new cases reported today; 6 ACTIVE Cases; 50 having recovered (out of isolation).
The World Health Organization says that a 14-day positive test rate of below 5 percent is the key to keeping businesses open.
Monday’s coronavirus report from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) shows that hospitalizations from COVID-19 remain fairly steady, while deaths continue maintain slight growth, with six new deaths reported in the latest update.
Of the six newly reported deaths, five were from private residences and one patient was from a long-term care or assisted-living facility. Three patients were from Hennepin County, aged in their 70s, 80s and 90s, respectively; two victims were in their 90s, from Beltrami and Stearns counties, respectively; and one individual who died was in their 60s and from Scott County.
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 dropped from 290 Sunday to 286 Monday, though the number of ICU patients increased from 152 to 155 in the past 24 hours.
Monday’s update includes 567 new cases of the coronavirus, three of which have been removed for an official count of 564. Those positive cases are the result of 12,690 diagnostic tests, creating a daily test positivity rate of 4.44%.
Minnesota’s test positivity rate – based on positive results divided by total number of tests – over a 7-day rolling average, based on MDH data, as of Monday, is 4.40%. Note: Due to reporting delays and changes, daily testing totals are subject to change.
“If you go above 5 percent it indicates that you may be heading back into a phase of more rapid spread of the disease,” said MDH Commissioner Jan Malcolm.
