Roseau County 276 Positive Cases; with 9 new cases reported today; 63 ACTIVE Cases; 213 having recovered (out of isolation).
Minnesota’s death toll from COVID-19 has climbed by four, reaching 2,353 since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
Of the four newly reported deaths Monday, all four were residents of long-term care, aged in their 70s and 90s, respectively. Of the dead since the first fatal case was reported in March, 1,649 were residents of long-term care facilities.
There were 1,579 positive tests reported, of which eight were removed for a total of 1,575 confirmed cases. The MDH reported 23,273 diagnostic PCR tests and an additional 180 antigen tests for a total of 23,453 completed tests.
Those tests were from 13,571 people tested. As if often the case, patients are tested multiple times, so the more accurate reading for test positivity rate is based on the total number of people tested, which today is 11.6%.
The positivity rate for Monday when total cases is divided by total tests is 6.73%. Health experts say positivity rates need to be below the 5% mark to control the spread of the virus.
Through Oct. 25, the state health department is reporting 149 people with COVID-19 currently hospitalized in an ICU, and a further 465 patients hospitalized in a non-ICU bed. That’s a combined total of 614 patients, which surpasses the previous high number of COVID-19 hospitalizations (606) seen in late May.

- Total tests: 2,710,177 (up from 2,686,302)
- People tested: 1,783,933 (up from 1,770,362)
- Positive cases: 135,372 (up from 133,802)
- Deaths: 2,353 – 14 of which are “probable*” (up from 2,349)
- Patients no longer requiring isolation: 120,421 (up from 118,485)
