A Memorial service for Dean G. Fuglem of Greenbush, MN will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Dean Gardell Fuglem passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 05, 2022, after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 64. Dean was born in Northwood, North Dakota on December 2, 1957 to Glenn and Dorothy (Saint) Fuglem. He attended school in Aneta, North Dakota.
On May 28, 1984 Dean married Lana Johnson in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in Grand Forks, North Dakota where he was the manager at Safelite Auto Glass. In 1991 they moved to Roseau, MN and started D & L Auto Glass. After selling the business in 2006 they moved to Arizona where they lived for three years. They then moved back to the Badger-Greenbush area to be close to family.
Dean was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and hanging out by the campfire. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids teaching them about hunting and trail riding. He was a jack of all trades who could fix things and put things back together and he enjoyed making benches and coat trees. Dean was a very hard worker, always moving and working on projects.
He is survived by his wife Lana; children John (Rhonda) Nelson of Centennial, CO, Heather (DJ) Janousek of Greenbush, Jacqueline (Brad) Hall of Thief River Falls, MN; siblings Glenna Arlien, Don (Lindy) Fuglem; step-sister Kay Tykeson; grandchildren Daegan (Emilee) Berger, Jaxon and Danyn Janousek, Broden and Berkley Hall; great granddaughter Esme Berger; step-grandsons Blake & Connor Meston; mother-in-law Grace Johnson; brothers-in-law Tab Johnson and Jay (Renetta) Johnson; his dogs Harley and Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Darrel Fuglem; father-in-law Harland Johnson; brother-in-law Steve Arlien; sisters-in-law Deborah Fuglem and Denise Fuglem; and stepfather Merle Ophaug.
