Funeral services for Juneal (Harper) Wiley of Fargo, ND will be held Friday, July 2nd at 2 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Visitation will be one hour prior; with interment at Moe-Rose Cemetery in Roseau.
Juneal (Jan) Wiley passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 28, 2021, at the age of 77. She passed peacefully during a weekend at the lake enjoying the sunshine and summer weather.
Jan was born on June 20, 1944, to Gilmore Harper and Eleanore (Helstad) Lindberg. Gilmore was killed serving our country during WWII and didn’t get to love his beautiful daughter. Jan was lovingly raised by Lowell Lindberg and her mother Eleanore on their farm in Roseau, Minn.
Jan graduated from high school in Roseau, and then continued her education in Grand Forks, N.D., where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Dakota. She earned her teaching certificate and spent many years driving from Grand Forks to Grafton, N.D. where she taught school. After “retiring” from teaching, she still enjoyed working and volunteering. Her education, intelligence and experience were well-served as office manager for a doctor’s office, coordinator for a racquetball club, and volunteering at a hospital gift shop. She had a love of animals (especially cats) and gave generously to local animal shelters.
On December 7, 1965, she married her love, Dyke M. Wiley. They raised two daughters and in their spare time enjoyed traveling to area lakes for fishing. They ventured on many family vacations in the station wagon to Montana, South Dakota, and Minnesota.
Jan is survived by her two daughters, Lisa (finance’ Michael Dow) Artz and Laurie (Doug) Beach; lovingly adored by her “M&M” boys, grandsons Michael (Shelby) Larson and Matthew Artz; great granddaughters Brooklyn Larson and Kinsleigh Larson; brother John (Cheri) Lindberg; niece Anna Lindberg Gibbons; and great nephews Gunnar Gibbons and Axel Gibbons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dyke Wiley; special friend, James Penwarden; parents Gilmore Harper, Eleanore Lindberg, and Lowell Lindberg. Jan cherished the memories of the many family members and friends who surrounded her in life or preceded her in death.
