Kenneth (Pinky) Kjos passed away May 27, 2024, at LifeCare Manor in Roseau, MN. He was born April 30, 1944 and was the 2nd youngest child of Oscar and Anna Kjos of Greenbush.
Ken graduated from Greenbush High School in 1962 and traveled to Eastern Montana with a friend to help him find work. Ken found farm work in Peerless, Montana and ended up staying there most of his adult life. He moved back to the Greenbush area in 2021.
Ken met Ellen Hames in 1964 and they married in 1965. They have 4 children, Ken Jr (Darci) Kjos and their children Karissa and Kalli; Dirk Kjos and his children Karrington, Kassidy and Hudson; Melissa Kjos-Peterson and her children Chloe and Ava; and Denise (Randolph) Kjos-Cameau and her children Kendahl and Mekhi.
Ken went to work for the Farmers Union Oil in Peerless in 1965 and didn’t realize this would be his final job. He worked for the station for 46 years as employee and manager retiring in 2011.
Ken loved his job working for the co-op. After he retired, he always missed his relationship with his customers, his boards over the years, his suppliers and his fellow employees. Those relationships were very important to him.
Ken had 3 wonderful partners in his life…after his first marriage to Ellen Hames and a second marriage to Judy Fossum, Ken got re-acquainted with Lois Jackson from Badger. They fell in love, and she joined him in Montana after her retirement from Polaris. They lived there until their move back to Badger.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, 9 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his partner Lois Jackson of Badger, by 2 sisters, Avis Hites of Roseau and Jane (Ray) Franks of Grand Forks, and his four children and 9 grandchildren.
