THE RED LAKE NATION SAYS THEY ARE WORKING ON A MOBILE MARIJUANA DISPENSARY THAT WOULD RESEMBLE A FOOD TRUCK. THEY SAID IT WILL ALLOW THEM TO EXPAND THEIR SERVICE INTO OTHER MARKETS, BUT THAT THE TRUCK WILL NOT LEAVE TRIBAL LAND. A TRIBAL LEADER SAYS SO FAR THE DISPENSARY IN RED LAKE IS SEEING ABOUT 300 CUSTOMERS PER DAY. THE STORY IN THE GRAND FORKS HERALD ALSO MENTIONS THAT RED LAKE NATION HAS PLANS TO OPEN DISPENSARIES SOON NEAR THEIR CASINOS IN WARROAD AND THIEF RIVER FALLS.

THE SHERIFF SAYS THAT WON’T BE EASY AS HE IS CURRENTLY LOOKING TO FILL FOUR POSITIONS AND HAS A LIMITED NUMBER OF QUALIFIED CANDIDATES. THE DEPARTMENT THAT RESIGNED CONSISTED OF A CHIEF, ONE FULL TIME AND FIVE PART TIME OFFICERS. THE CHIEF SAID PAY AND RECRUITMENT WERE THEIR MAIN REASONS.
