THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD, LAST WEEK,  HEARD FROM STEVE TRUDEAU WITH KRAUS-ANDERSON.

THAT COMPANY IS OVERSEEING THE SCHOOL’S CONSTRUCTION PROJECT.

TRUDEAU SAID THERE WILL BE LIMITED GYM SPACE THIS SUMMER FOR SPORTS CAMPS DUE TO A GYM RENOVATION PROJECT SCHEDULED TO START NEXT MONTH.

 

TOMORROW’S  WANNASKA  LIONS FISHING DERBY IS OFF,  DUE TO COVID-19.

A RAFFLE DRAWING WILL STILL BE HELD AT THE WANNASKA COMMUNITY CENTER  (3 PM)  TOMORROW AFTERNOON.

THAT EVENT HAS BEEN THE WANNASKA LIONS CLUB’S LARGEST SINGLE FUNDRAISER.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  LAST WEEK,  OFFERED A LETTER OF SUPPORT AND A FINANCIAL PLEDGE TOWARD THE PROPOSED  ROSEAU TO WARROAD RAIL TRAIL PROJECT.

THAT ABANDONED RAILBED IS OWNED BY THE ROSEAU COUNTY TRAILBLAZERS, AND THE PROJECT WOULD CREATE A MULTI-USE TRAIL FOR MOTORIZED VEHICLES  AND FOR BIKERS AND HIKERS.

WARROAD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IS SEEKING MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION GRANT MONEY FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THAT RAILBED.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD,  LAST WEEK,  APPROVED THE HIRE OF DANI GUNDERSON AS SWIMMING POOL SUPERVISOR.

SHE’S A FORMER TEAM  ‘EPIC’  COORDINATOR,  AND AN ASSISTANT COACH FOR THE  NORTH SWIMMING COOPERATIVE.

 

THE  U.S.  DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE  PROJECTS FARMERS WON’T HAVE ANOTHER YEAR AS PROFITABLE AS  2020 FOR AT LEAST A DECADE.

DIRECT FEDERAL ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS ACCOUNTED FOR MORE THAN A THIRD OF  U.S.  FARMERS  121  BILLION DOLLARS IN NET INCOME,

AND FARM PROFITS WERE AT THEIR HIGHEST LEVEL IN SEVEN YEARS.
