VINCENT STENBERG OF THE GREENBUSH-MIDDLE RIVER SCHOOL AND A MEMBER OF THEIR ROBOTICS TEAM HAS BEEN AWARDED THE NORTHERN MINNESOTA ROBOTICS CONFERENCE GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP. IN HIS ESSAY HE SAID “I HAVE BECOME A BETTER LEARNER, BETTER TEACHER, AND A MORE MOTIVATED STUDENT” THANKS TO HIS PARTICIPATION IN ROBOTICS.

THERE WILL BE A FREEWILL DONATION PANCAKE BREAKFAST AT ROSEAU’S PIONEER FARM ON MAY 11 FROM 7A-NOON. PROCEEDS WILL SUPPORT GENERAL UPKEEP OF THE FARM.

THE GREENBUSH-BADGER LIONS WILL SERVE A PANCAKE BENEFIT BREAKFAST FOR MARK MILLER THIS SUNDAY FROM 9-1 AT THE GREENBUSH COMMUNITY CENTER. MARK WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER IN JANUARY.

A 420-GALLON OIL SPILL WAS REPORTED BY COBRA OIL AND GAS A FEW MILES SOUTHWEST OF MEDORA. THE MINNESOTA RURAL WATER ASSOCIATION SAYS THE SPILL IMPACTED THE LOCAL ECOSYSTEM INCLUDING A TRIBUTARY OF GARNER CREEK. ACCORDING TO THE ORGANIZATION, JUST ONE PINT OF OIL IS ENOUGH TO CONTAMINATE UP TO 1 ACRE OF WATER SURFACE.

A BILL PASSED THE MINNESOTA HOUSE AND NOW GOES TO THE SENATE. IF IT PASSES MINNESOTA WILL BECOME THE 2ND STATE TO BAN SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS THAT PROFIT OFF OF CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 14, AND WOULD MANDATE THAT A PORTION OF PROFITS BE SET ASIDE FOR CHILDREN WHO ARE FEATURED ON SITES IF THEY ARE OVER THE AGE OF 14.
