THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD WILL MEET IN REGULAR SESSION TOMORROW. ON THAT AGENDA IS THE HIRING OF A COUNTY AUDITOR-RECORDER-TREASURER, WHICH IS NOW ALL ONE POSITION.
FROM THEIR LAST MEETING, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED A FUNDING REQUEST FROM PAUL BUNYAN TRANSIT FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW BUS TO BE USED EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN ROSEAU COUNTY. MN DOT WILL PROVIDE $102,600 TOWARDS THAT PURCHASE, WITH THE LOCAL MATCH BEING $15,325.
AT A MAY LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY BOARD MEETING, THEY DISCUSSED APPLICATIONS FOR PROGRAMS FOR SNOWMOBILE TRAIL ASSISTANCE WITH BOTH THE NORTHWEST ANGLE EDGERIDERS AND LAKE OF THE WOODS DRIFTERS.
A PRE-REGISRATION DEADLINE FOR THE MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR ALS WALK-RUN IN ROSEAU IS FAST APPROACHING ON JULY 1. DOING SO BY THEN WILL SAVE YOU A LITTLE ON REGISTRITON COST AND IS APPRECIATED BY ORGANIZERS. THAT EVENT IS JULY 20 AT THE ROSEAU CITY PARK.
BEGINNING JUNE 28 AND RUNNING THROUGH JULY 15, THE AMERICAN LEGION AND SUPER ONE FOODS OF ROSEAU WILL TEAM UP FOR CAMPAIGN TO RAISE FUNDS THAT WILL HELP FUND THE HONOR FLIGHTS FOR VETERANS TO WASHINGTON DC. AT CHECK OUT, ON THE PIN PAD, YOU’LL BE AKSED IF YOU’D LIKE TO DONATE A SMALL AMOUNT.
A CERAMICS WORKSHOP WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE ROSEAU SCHOOL JULY 8-11, WITH BOTH A MORNING AND EVENING CLASS. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 14 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. SPACE IS LIMITED. YOU CAN REGISTER WITH ROSEAU COMMUNITY EDUCATION.
THE LAKE OF THE WOODS AND ROSEAU COUNTY SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS HAVE A FIELD DAY PLANNED FOR WEDNEDDAY, JULY 10 AT THE ROOSEVELT COMMUNITY CENTER FROM 8-3. REGISTRATION IS REQUESTED, BUT IT IS FREE AND LUNCH IS PROVIDED. THEY’LL HAVE A NUMBER OF PRESENTERS ON HAND.
