THE ROSEAU COUNTY MUSEUM NOW HAS REGISTRATION OPEN FOR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO DECORATE A TREE FOR THEIR “LIGHT UP THE MUSEUM” EVENT THAT RUNS THROUGH THE HOLIDAY SEASON. YOU CAN DO SO AS AN INDIVIDUAL, GROUP, OR BUSINESS. CONTACT THE MUSEUM TO SIGN UP. THE OPENING NIGHT OF THE EVENT IS NOVEMBER 25.
THE 2024 ROSEAU HOLIDAY ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOW WILL BE HELD THIS YEAR ON NOVEMBER 29 AND 30 AND THEY ARE STILL SEEKING ADDITIONAL VENDORS.
THE MAIN FIREARMS DEER SEASON OPENS THIS WEEKEND. SOME NUMBERS ARE IN FROM THE YOUTH SEASON, WHERE ROUGHLY 6000 DEER WERE HARVESTED STATEWIDE, THAT WAS UP 10% FROM A YEAR AGO, AND DOWN 7% FROM THE FIVE YEAR AVERAGE. THE EARLY ANTLERLESS SEASON WAS DEEMED TO HAVE NO CHANGE FROM A YEAR AGO, WHILE THE ARCHERY NUMBERS TO THIS POINT ARE DOWN 3%.
THE ROSEAU TIMES REGION HAD A STORY ON THE COMPLETION OF THE OAKCREST COULEE WATER PROJECT, WHICH WILL HELP TO IMPROVE DRAINAGE AND ALSO BRING DOWN PHOSPHOROUS LEVELS WHICH LOWERS WATER QUALITY AND CAN BE DANGEROUS TO WILDLIFE AS IT DRAINS INTO WATERWAYS.
FOR THOSE IN ROSEAU COUNTY WHO ARE LOOKING TO VOTE ABSENTEE BEFORE TUESDAY, THE AUDITOR’S OFFICE HAS ADDITIONAL HOURS FOR VOTING, 8A-5P ON MONDAY. FOR THOSE IN MAIL BALLOT PRECINCTS WHO DID NOT GET THEIR BALLOT INTO THE MAIL SOON ENOUGH AND ARE LOOKING TO DROP OFF, THAT CAN BE DONE ON TUESDAY FROM 7A-8P.
THE ROSEAU SCHOOL DISTRICT IS SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR A VARSITY HEAD FOOTBALL COACH FOR NEXT SEASON, AFTER MATT HEDDAN PUT IN HIS RESIGNATION.
A Memorial Service for Delores M. Bodenhamer will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00AM at Riverside Lutheran Church in Wannaska, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Mickinock Cemetery, rural Wannaska, MN.
She passed away at the age of 87.
