KATHY KRUASE, PUBLISHER OF THE NORTHLAND TRADING POST, IS LOOKING INTO DELIVERY ISSUES. AFTER DOWNSIZING, DELIVERY WAS OUTSOURCED TO THE US POSTAL SERVICE. BUT RECENTLY, THE PAPER HAD RECEIVED A PHOTOGRAPH OF DOZENS OF BUNDLES OF THE NORTHLAND TRADING POST IN A RECYCLING BIN. THE PERSON WHO TOOK THE PHOTO SAYS THEY SAW THE POSTAL WORKER THROWING THE UNOPENED BUNDLES INTO THE BIN. SHE HAS BEEN TOLD THAT AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN LAUNCHED.
FOSSTON POLICE RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF A TAXI BEING STOLEN, WHILE THE DRIVER HAD GONE INSIDE A GAS STATION TO USE THE RESTROOM. UPON INVESTIGATION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE PERSON WHO STOLE THE TAXI WAS THE PASSENGER AT THE TIME. THEY WERE BEING TRANSPORTED FROM A FARGO HOSPITAL TO CASS LAKE. USING THE GPS SYSTEM IN THE TAXI, THEY WERE ABLE TO TRACK IT AND STOP IT IN THE BEMIDJI AREA. THE SUSPECT IS 34-YEAR OLD MARDEE JONES.
A 67-YEAR OLD MAN WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE OF A SNOWMOBILE CRASH IN KANDIYOHI COUNTY. THE CRASH OCCURRED NEAR LAKE FLORIDA, NEAR THE TOWNS OF NEW LONDON AND SPICER. THE CRASH IS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED AGAINST A MAN FOR VANDALIZING THE BRICKHOUSE RESTAURAANT AND BAR IN ROSEAU. 28-YEAR OLD MICHAEL SHANE MOONEY JR WAS LINKED TO THAT CRIME WHILE BEING QUESTIONED ABOUT A THEFT AT NOTHER BUSINESS. HE ALLEGEDLY ADMITTED TO THE CRIME, SAYING HE DID IT BECAUSE HE WAS “BORED”. HE’S CHARGED WITH FELONY FIRST DEGREE DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND FELONY THIRD DEGREE BURGLARY.
