A BILL WILL GO TO NORTH DAKOTA GOVERNOR DOUG BURGUM’S DESK THAT WOULD EASE RESTRICTIONS ON ALLOWING MINORS INTO ALCOHOL-SERVING RESTAURANTS. THE BILL WOULD ALLOW THOSE UNDER 21, WHO ARE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT, TO REMAIN IN THE RESTAURANT, SEATED AWAY FROM THE BAR, UNTIL 10 PM. CURRENTLY RESTAURANTS ALSO NEED TO DESIGNATE A BAR AREA FROM A DINING ROOM.
FORMER U.S. CONGRESSMAN COLLIN PETERSON HAS ENTERED INTO A CONSULTING AGREEMENT WITH AGRICULTURAL LOBBYING FIRM COMBEST, SELL & ASSOCIATES — IN LARGE PART BECAUSE HE WANTS TO CONTINUE WORKING WITH THE FARMERS HE GOT TO KNOW DURING HIS TENURE AS CHAIR OF THE HOUSE AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE. THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE IS PROVIDING REIMBURSEMENTS FOR PRODUCE FARMERS WHO CONDUCTED WATER TESTING FOR E. COLI OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS. FARMERS HAVE UNTIL MARCH 19TH TO FILE FOR REIMBURSEMENT, WHICH WILL COVER UP TO FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS IN TESTING EXPENSES. THE FARMER MUST HAVE SOLD A MINIMUM OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS IN PRODUCE TO QUALIFY.
AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS WHO HAVE NOT YET ELECTED AND ENROLLED IN THE AGRICULTURE RISK COVERAGE (ARC) OR PRICE LOSS COVERAGE (PLC) PROGRAMS FOR 2021 HAVE UNTIL MARCH 15. THE DEPARTMENT SAID IN A NEWS RELEASE THAT ABOUT 1.4 MILLION FARMS HAVE SO FAR ENROLLED, ABOUT 81% OF EXPECTED PARTICIPATION.
THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD HAS APPROVED CALLING FOR BIDS FOR THIS SUMMER’S BITUMINOUS PROJECTS ON COUNTY ROADS TWENTY-TWO AND FIFTEEN; AND FOR STREETS IN GREENBUSH AND BADGER.
THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD APPROVED A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF GREENBUSH FOR THE COUNTY AND CITY MAINTENANCE FACILITY. THE CITY WILL TURN THE PROPERTY DEED OVER TO THE COUNTY FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES, AND WILL BEGIN MAKING ANNUAL TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLAR PAYMENTS (FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS).
THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD WILL RE-OPEN COUNTY BUILDINGS (INCLUDING THE COURTHOUSE, SOCIAL SERVICES BUILDING AND HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT STARTING MARCH 15TH. THOSE BUILDINGS HAVE BEEN OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, DUE TO COVID-19, SINCE NOVEMBER.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR EMERSON MICHAL WILL BE HELD THIS FRIDAY AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU, WITH VISITATION FROM 11:00-1:00, WITH A FUNERAL SERVICE AT 1:00 ALSO AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW AT SPRUCE CEMETERY.
