THE PENNINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE CONTINUES TO INVESTIGATE AN ALLEGED HAZING INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED IN DECEMBER WHILE A JAMESTOWN, NORTH DAKOTA HOCKEY WAS STAYING IN THIEF RIVER FALLS. THE ALLEGATIONS SAY THAT AS MANY AS FOUR BOYS HAZED AS MANY AS THREE BOYS AND A GIRL. THE ALLEGED INCIDENT HAPPENED AT SEVEN CLANS CASINO HOTEL AND WATER PARK. NO CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED.

THE PLEA AGREEMENT MEANS HER JUVENILE SENTENCE COULD EXTEND TO HER 21ST BIRTHDAY, AND ANY ADULT PRISON SENTENCE WOULD BE STAYED UNLESS SHE VIOLATES THE TERMS OF HER JUVENILE SENTENCE.
A WILD DEER IN GRAND RAPIDS HAS BECOME THE FIRST DEER IN NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA TO TEST POSITIVE FOR CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE, AN ALWAYS FATAL NEUROLOGICAL DISEASE. KELLY STRAKA, WILDLIFE MANAGER FOR THE DNR, SAID THEY WILL TRY TO TEST MORE DEER IN THE AREA AND WILL LIKELY HAVE SOME TARGETING KILLINGS. THEY WILL ALSO CONDUCT MANDATORY TESTING ON ALL DEER SHOT BY HUNTERS IN THAT AREA THIS FALL.
