THE CITY OF ROSEAU IS ACCEPTING A $40,000 GRAND FROM THE BLANDIN FOUNDATION FOR THE STUDY INTO THE POSSIBILITY OF DEVELOPING AN INDOOR COMMUNITY WELLNESS AND RECREATION CENTER. THOSE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO ENGAGE WITH JLG ARCHITECTS, SEEK COMMUNITY INPUT AND STUDY THEIR OPTIONS. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR TODD PETERSON SAYS A PROJECT SUCH AS THIS HAS BEEN A PRIORITY FOR MANY YEARS, BUT A LACK OF RESOURCES HAS NEVER ALLOWED THEM TO MOVE FORWARD.
SENATORS AMY KLOBUCHAR AND TINA SMITH ANNOUNCED THAT CONGRESS HAS APPROVED MORE THAN $18 MILLION IN FEDERAL FUNDING TO HELP MINNESOTA FAMILIES AFFORD THEIR HEATING COSTS AND UTILITY BILLS THIS WINTER. MORE THAN 127,000 HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVED ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE PROGRAM LAST WINTER WITH AN AVERAGE BENEFIT OF $1,615.

THE AUXILIARY TODAY IS SERVING THEIR SOUP AND SALAD LUNCHEON FROM 11:00 -1:00 AT THE ROSEAU EVENTS CENTER. ALL PROCEEDS ARE RETURNED TO LOCAL CHARTITES.
A REMINDER THAT ALL SECOND HALF TAXES ON ALL REAL ESTATE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY ARE DUE ON OCTOBER 17. THOSE TAXES ON FARM CLASSIFICATIONS AND MOBILE HOMES ARE DUE NOVEMBER 15.
