THE GRAND FORKS HERALD HAS A STORY ON DAVID JOHNSON OF KARLSTAD. HE IS NOW BACK HOME AFTER HIKING THE 3000 MILE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE TRAIL FROM NEW MEXICO TO CANADA. IT TOOK FIVE MONTHS AND HE LOST ABOUT 70 POUNDS DURING THE HIKE.

PAUL GREGORY PICHE OF THIEF RIVER FALLS HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO 74 MONTHS FOR INTENTIONALLY STRIKING A MOTORCYCLIST WITH HIS PICKUP. HE WAS ORIGINALLY CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE CRIMES, INCLUDING 2ND DEGREE ATTEMPTED MURDER. HE PLEADED GUILTY TO A FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT CHARGE, WITH THE OTHERS BEING DISMISSED. THIS WAS THE STORY THAT INVOLVED PICHE FOLLOWING A WOMAN IN HIS VEHICLE AFTER LEAVING THE CASINO, AND AFTER SHE ALERTED HER HUSBAND WHO SHOWED UP ON MOTORCYCLE TO CONFRONT THE MAN, PICHE INTENTIONALLY HIT HIS BIKE.
25-YEAR OLD JORDAN KROLAK OF KARLSTAD IS FACING FELONY CHARGES OF STOLEN PROPERTY, DUI, DRIVING AFTER REVOCATION AND MORE AFTER SHE HAD TAKEN A PICKUP FROM A MANS YARD IN STEPHEN ON SEPTEMBER 15. SHE THEN DROVE TO NORTH DAKOTA, THAT VEHICLE WAS LOCATED, BUT SHE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF ATTEMPTING TO STEAL ANOTHER VEHICLE.
A BAGLEY MAN IS FACING CHARGES AFTER APPROACHING A WOMAN WITH A LARGE KNIFE AT A FARGO GAS STATION. SHAWN KING WAS ARRESTED AT ISLAND PARK. HE CHARGED WITH FELONY TERRORIZING, POSSESSION OF DRUG PRARAPHANILIA AND MORE. THE WOMAN WAS ABLE TO FLEE THAT SCENE UNHARMED.
A Fort Yates, North Dakota, man who is currently being held at the Northwest Regional Corrections Center changed his plea Tuesday, Sept. 17, in an assault case against a fellow inmate.
Christopher Paul James Morrison, 24, was charged with felony first- and third-degree assault after throwing boiling water on another inmate, according to a probable cause statement filed in the case.
Morrison pleaded guilty to the lesser charge, and will be sentenced at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19.

A Funeral Service for Ronni D. Peterson of Greenbush, MN will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at America Cemetery in Warroad, MN.
Ronnie was 51.
