A DULUTH GOLF COMMITTEE HAS SIGNED OFF ON PLANS TO IMPROVE ENGER PARK GOLF COURSE, WITH A BUDGET OF NEAR $7 MILLION. THIS COMES AS DULUTH IS PREPARED TO CLOSE THEIR ONLY OTHER MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE AT LESTER PARK. SALE OF LAND AT THAT LOCATION COULD HELP TO FUND THE ENGER PARK IMPROVEMENTS.
S.T. PAPER IS ONE OF SIX RECIPIENTS OF AN AWARD FROM THE JOB CREATION FUND FROM THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. THEY’LL RECEIVE $1.3 MILLION AS THEY HAVE PURCHASED THE CLOSED PAPER MILL IN DULUTH AND WILL REBUILD THE FACILITY INTO A TISSUE MANUFACTURING PLANT. THAT TOTAL PROJECT IS ESTIMATED TO COST OVER $42 MILLION. IT WILL BRING CLOSE TO 80 JOBS TO THE TWIN PORTS.
