ROSEAU HIGH SCHOOL’S COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE THIS SUNDAY AT 1:30 IN THE AFTERNOON. WEATHER PERMITTING, THEY WILL UTILIZE THE FOOTBALL FIELD. IF NEEDED, IT WOULD BE MOVED INDOORS TO THE RAMS SPORTS CENTER. THERE WILL BE A PARADE OF THE GRADUATES DOWN CENTER STREET FOLLOWING THE CEREMONY. THAT WILL END AT THE RIVERVIEW PARK GAZEBO.

WARROAD’S GRADUATION CEREMONY IS FRIDAY EVENING… GREENBUSH-MIDDLE RIVER WILL GRADUATE ITS SENIORS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT 2:00.

 

THE COUNTY BOARD APPROVED A REVISED CONTRACT WITH PENNINGTON COUNTY FOR INTERIM HIGHWAY ENGINEER SERVICES AT TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS PER MONTH. ROSEAU COUNTY HAS BEEN WITHOUT A HIGHWAY ENGINEER FOR A YEAR.

 

NORTH COUNTY FOOD BANK AND THE WARREN COMMUNITY FOOD SHELF HAVE ARRANGED FOR A MOBILE FOOD DROP ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 26TH. BOXES OF FOOD WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP, VIA DRIVE THRU, FROM 9:00-10:00 AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN WARREN, AND FROM 11:30-12:30 AT THE CITY GARAGE IN GREENBUSH. THAT IS FOR ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO PICK UP.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD HAS SET A JULY 13TH PUBLIC HEARING ON TAX-FORFEITED LAND CLASSIFICATION. APPROXIMATELY FIFTEEN PARCELS ARE ON THAT LIST.

A PANCAKE BREAKFAST AND SILENT AUCTION BENEFIT FOR ORIN SWART OF BADGER WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, JUNE 13, FROM 10:00-1:00, AT THE BADGER COMMUNITY CENTER. THAT IS SERVED BY THE GREENBUSH-BADGER LIONS CLUB.

 

THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES SAYS ONE OF ITS CONSERVATION OFFICERS, SARAH GRELL, DIED IN A TWO-VEHICLE CRASH NEAR GRAND RAPIDS WHILE ON DUTY YESTERDAY MORNING.

 

THE DULUTH CITY COUNCIL VOTED LAST NIGHT 8-0 TO REPEAL THE CITIES MASK MANDATE, WHILE PASSING A RESOLUTION URGING NON-VACCINATED PEOPLE TO CONTINUE TO USE THEM, AND AGAIN ALLOWING INDIVIDUAL BUSINESSES TO MAKE THEIR OWN TERMS.

 

A 17 YEAR OLD MALE FROM PROCTOR HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR THE DOWNTOWN DULUTH SHOOTING THAT RESULTED IN THE CITY’S FIRST HOMICIDE OF THE YEAR. PATRICK BATTEES JR. MADE AN INITIAL APPEARANCE IN JUVENILE COURT ON A CHARGE OF INTENTIONAL SECOND DEGREE MURDER. UNDER MINNESOTA LAW, IT IS PRESUMED A JUVENILE WILL BE CERTIFIED AS AN ADULT IF THE JUVENILE WAS 16 OR 17 AT THE TIME OF THE OFFENSE AND IF THE OFFENSE WOULD RESULT IN A PRESUMPTIVE PRISON SENTENCE.
