A MASS STABBING IN AN INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY SASKETCHEWAN OCCURRED YESTERDAY, WITH 10 PEOPLE BEING MURDERED AND 18 WOUNDED. ONE SUSPECT HAS BEEN FOUND DEAD, WHILE ANOTHER, HIS BROTHER, REMAINED AT LARGE. OFFICIALS BELIEVE SOME VICTIMS WERE TARGETED WHILE OTHERS WERE RANDOM VICTIMS. 31-YEAR OLD DAMIEN SANDERSON WAS FOUND DEAD, WITH AUTHORITIES STILL SEARCHING FOR 30-YEAR OLD MYLES SANDERSON. THEY BELIEVE THE EVENTS MAY BE DRUG-RELATED.
A MAN DROWN AT NORTH STAR CAMP ON RICE LAKE IN BRAINERD YESTERDAY. THE 30-YEAR OLD MAN WAS A SCHOOL STAFF MEMBER FROM HUTCHINSON WHO WAS AT THE CAMP ON A WEEKEND RETREAT WITH A GROUP OF STUDENTS. A STUDENT HAD PULLED THE MAN FROM THE WATER, AND THEN LIFE SAVING MEASURES BY MEDICAL PERSONNEL WERE NOT SUCCESSFUL. Minnesota’s Youth Waterfowl Hunt is Sept. 10-11, and the regular waterfowl season opens Saturday, Sept. 24.

A SINGLE GUNSHOT SENT THE CROWD AT THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR SCRAMBLING LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. IT OCCURRED AROUND 10 PM AND THE FAIR CLOSED DOWN ABOUT AN HOUR EARLIER THAN IT’S SCHEDULED CLOSING. ONE INJURY WAS REPORTED THAT WAS NOT GUNFIRE RELATED, AND REQUIRED ONLY ON SITE MEDICAL ATTENTION.
TWO GRAND FORKS RESIDENTS DIED IN A FRIDAY CRASH IN CROOKSTON. THE VEHICLE WAS HEADING EAST ON HIGHWAY 2 WHEN IT LEFT THE ROADWAY AND HIT A TREE. NO NAMES WERE RELEASED, BUT THEY WERE A 33-YEAR OLD MAN AND 35-YEAR OLD WOMAN.
