MINNESOTA 7TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT REPUBLICAN PARTY EXPRESSED THEIR SUPPORT FOR MICHELLE FISHBACH AND OTHER STATE LEADERS IN THEIR EFFORTS TO RE-OPEN THE US-CANADA BORDER AND OFFER SUPPORT TO THE BORDER COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE SUFFERED OVER THE PAST 15 MONTHS. THAT GROUP IS CALLING FOR THE IMMEDIATE RE-OPENING OF THE NORTHERN BORDER.

 

ON TUESDAY, REPRESENTATIVE FISHBACH PARTICIPATED IN HER FIRST HEARING AS A RANKING MEMBER OF THE HOUSE AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE’S SUBCOMMITTEE ON COMMODITY EXCHANGES, ENERGY, AND CREDIT EXAMINING THE NEEDS OF RURAL AMERICA. THINGS SUCH AS LACK OF BROADBAND CONNECTIVITY, WORKFORCE SHORTAGES, AGING INFRASTRUCTURE, AND DIMINISHED ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE SERVICES WERE ALL DISCUSSED.

FISHBACH YESTERDAY WAS ALSO NAMED A NEW CO-CHAIR OF THE PRO-LIFE CAUCUS.

 

MEMORIAL SERVICES FOR HAZEL MOORMAN OF BAUDETTE WILL BE HELD THIS SATURDAY (1 PM) AT FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH OF BAUDETTE, WITH VISITATION ON HOUR PRIOR. HAZEL MOORMAN HAD PASSED AWAY BACK ON MAY 5TH AT THE AGE OF 101.

 

THE CITY OF BADGER IS HOLDING A BURGER FEED FUNDRAISER THIS FRIDAY FROM 4:00-7:00 AT HERITAGE PARK. ALL PROCEEDS WILL HELP IN COMPLETION OF THE GAZEBO FOR HERITAGE PARK.

 

NOMINATIONS CONTINUE TO BE ACCEPTED FOR THE OUTSTANDING SENIOR CITIZEN VOLUNTEER AWARD FOR ROSEAU COUNTY. FORMS CAN BE DOWNLOADED FROM THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR WEBSITE. NOMINEES DO HAVE TO BE AT LEAST 70 YEARS OF AGE AS OF JUNE 1. BOTH A MALE AND FEMALE VOLUNTEER WILL BE CHOSEN BY A SELECTION COMMITTEE.

 

THE ROSEAU VFW AND ROSEAU AMERICAN LEGION WILL HOLD THEIR ANNUAL FLAG DISPOSAL CEREMONY AT 5 P.M. ON JUNE 28TH AT THE LEGION. IF YOU HAVE AN UN-SERVICEABLE FLAG YOU’D LIKE DISPOSED OF, IT CAN BE DROPPED OFF AT EITHER LOCATION BEFORE JUNE 28TH. 

 

THE NUMBER OF NEW DAILY COVID-19 CASES REPORTED IN MINNESOTA HAS FALLEN BELOW 100 FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE APRIL OF 2020. STATE HEALTH OFFICIALS SAY MINNESOTA RECORDED 95 NEW CASES OF THE VIRUS ON TUESDAY. THE STATE ALSO REPORTED ONE ADDITIONAL DEATH. MINNESOTA HAS HAD MORE THAN 600,000 CASES OF THE CORONAVIRUS SINCE THE PANDEMIC BEGAN. A TOTAL OF 7,518 PEOPLE HAVE DIED. HOSPITALIZATIONS HAVE ALSO FALLEN TO THEIR LOWEST LEVELS IN MORE THAN A YEAR. ALMOST 66% OF THE STATE’S POPULATION OF THOSE 16 AND OLDER HAVE GOTTEN AT LEAST ONE DOSE OF THE VACCINE.
