A FATAL ATV ACCIDENT OCCURRED IN THE AFTERNOON OF MAY 18 NEAR AN INTERSECTION WEST OF THE CITY OF ROOSEVELT. THE DRIVER WAS 45-YEAR OLD PAUL EDDIE ARVESON OF THIEF RIVER FALLS. HIS ATV LEFT THE ROADWAY AND COLLIDED WITH A TREE. HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.
THE GREENBUSH-BADGER LIONS WILL SERVE A PANCAKE BENEFIT BREAKFAST TO ASSIST THE FAMILY OF BRIAN AND MARY WILLIAMSON AFTER A TRAGIC FIRE IN LATE APRIL. THE BENEFIT IS JUNE 9 AT THE GREENBUSH COMMUNITY CENTER FROM 9:00-1:00.
CONSTRUCTION ON A GOODRIDGE SCHOOL DISTRICT BUILDING PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN 2025 AND BE COMPLETED IN 2026. THEY EXPECT BIDS TO GO OUT ON THE PROJECT THIS FALL. NEW ELEMENTARY CLASSROOMS, CAREER AND TECH SPACES, A SECURED A MAIN ENTRANCE, PERFORMANCE GYM, LOCKER ROOMS, WEIGHT ROOMS, AND BATHROOMS ARE ALL PART OF THAT PROJECT. THEY RECENTLY SHARED SOME OF THE RENDERINGS OF WHAT THE PROJECT COULD LOOK LIKE WHEN COMPLETED.
JAMES SCEVILLE WAS RECENTLY ENDORSED BY THE DFL AS THEIR CANDIDATE FOR THE RACE FOR THE MINNESOTA HOUSE DISTRICT 1A SEAT. THE AREA SERVED BY THAT DISTRICT INCLUDES KITTSON, MARSHALL, ROSEAU AND PENNINGTON COUNTIES. SCEVILLE IS FROM THIEF RIVER FALLS.
AS THE DAYS TICK BY , WE ARE ONE DAY CLOSER TO TEH ROSEAU COUNTY FAIR, AND OTHERS ACROSS THE AREA. SOME INFORMATION IS STARTING TO COME OUT AS ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES ARE RELEASED. FOR EXAMPLE, THE MARSHALL COUNTY FAIR IN WARREN HAS ANNOUNCED THAT LONGTIME COUNTRY MUSIC ARTIST TERRI CLARK WILL BE ON THE GRANDSTAND ON THURSDAY, JULY 25.
MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAMS FOR MONDAY WILL INCLUDE A ROSEAU PROGRAM THAT BEGINS AT CITIZENS STATE BANK AT 9 AM AND WILL MARCH TO THE VETERANS MEMORIAL. A BADGER PROGRAM BEGINS AT 10 AM AT THE BADGER CREEK BRIDGE AND THEN MARCHES TO THE VETERANS MEMORIAL.
ROSEAU BACCALAUREATE IS TONIGHT, KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION IS ON FRIDAY MORNING, AND HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION IS AT 1:30 ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
WARROAD WILL HAVE THEIR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION ON FRIDAY, 6:30 AT GARDENS ARENA.
ROAD CONSTRUCTION WILL BEGIN IN EARLY JUNE ON HIGHWAY 72 IN BAUDETTE. THE STRETCH TO BE WORKED ON IS BETWEEN FIRST AVENUE AND THE CANADIAN BORDER. THERE WILL BE A SIGNED DETOUR FOR MOTORISTS. WORK IS EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED IN AUGUST.
