A NEW POLL FROM 50CAN SHOWS THAT ROUGHLY 80 PERCENT OF PARENTS IN MINNESOTA ARE AT LEAST “SOMEWHAT SATISFIED” WITH THEIR CHILDREN’S K-12 SCHOOL, WHILE ABOUT 20% WOULD LIKE SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS OR, IF IT WAS MORE FEASIBLE FOR THEIR FAMILY, CHOOSE A NEW SCHOOL.

THE GRAND FORKS HERALD HAS A STORY LOOKING AT THE INDUSTRY OF AERIAL APPLICATION FOR FARMERS AND THEIR FIELDS. THE STORY DESCRIBES THE INDUSTRY AS A “MATURING MARKET”, MEANING THAT THE CLASSIC MACHINERY IS BEGINNING TO BE PHASED OUT IN FAVOR OF LARGER PLANES, AND THE PILOTS THEMSELVES ARE AGING, AND THE NEED IS THERE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION.

ROSEAU’S FALL HARVEST FESTIVAL TAKES PLACE THIS WEEKEND, WITH ANY NUMBER OF EVENTS AND COMPETITIONS TO HELD DOWNTOWN, THERE IS AN AERIAL EVENT AT THE ROSEAU AIRPORT, A BREWFEST AT MEMORIAL ARENA AND A WRESTLING SHOW SPONSORED BY POLARIS.

THE WARROAD RIVER PLACE HAS THEIR GRAND WELCOMING EVENT ON SATURDAY. IT’LL BE THE PUBLICS FIRST TRUE CHANCE TO SEE AND EXPLORE THAT NEW FACILITY. ALL EVENTS ARE FREE AND RANGE FROM VIEWING AN ART EXHIBIT, TO ARTS AND CRAFTS DEMOS, TO AN EVENING MUSICAL PERFORMANCE.

WARROAD SUMMER THEATER IS INTO THEIR SECOND WEEK OF SHOWING FOR THEIR FALL DINNER THEATER PRODUCTION OF DROP DEAD. SHOWS RUN TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY AT ROCK HARBOR LODGE. THEY DO STILL HAVE TICKET AVAILABILITY. CALL THE WST BOX OFFICE TO RESERVE.

A BENEFIT FOR MARNIE HALLIE, WHO HAS RECENTLY COMPLETED RADIATION AND CHEMO TREATMENTS FOR CANCER, WILL BE HELD AT THE ROSEAU AMERICAN LEGION ON OCTOBER 8TH FROM 4-8 PM. THEY’LL SERVE TACO IN A BAG, HAVE AUCTIONS, RAFFLES AND DRAWS.

A memorial service for Andrew Lystad will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11: 00 AM at Pitt Community Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 5-7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Baudette. Private family service Elm Park Cemetery, Baudette, MN at a later date. The service at Helgeson Funeral Home will be handicap accessible due to the elevator at the Pitt Community Church being non operational.
Andy passed away at the age of 90.
