Approaching the midpoint of their season, the Minnesota Wild find themselves entrenched in a challenging position within the Western Conference standings, currently residing at 13th place. Despite a commendable stretch of winning 10 out of 13 games under the leadership of John Hynes, who took over as head coach on Nov. 28, and securing victories against formidable teams like Boston and Vancouver, the Wild face an uphill battle to climb out of their current standings predicament. Positioned at 13th in the 16-team Western Conference, Minnesota remains in contention for one of the eight playoff spots, officially trailing No. 8 Edmonton by five points on Thursday morning. However, with five teams ahead of them vying for the same playoff spot, including the Oilers, the Wild must urgently improve their performance as they hit the season’s midpoint.

The Grand Forks herald reports the Minnesota Vikings are set to make their fourth appearance in London next season, as the NFL designates them for the 2024 International Games. Playing a home game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Vikings will be without one home game at U.S. Bank Stadium in the upcoming season. Alongside the Vikings, the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers are also scheduled to play international home games in London and Munich, with specific details to be announced by the NFL.
