Roseau County has 1142 Positive Cases; with 28 new cases reported today; and 3 accumulated deaths.
Minnesota has posted a record 101 deaths in its latest COVID-19 update Friday.
It’s a new record high for Minnesota, with the previous high of 72 being reached on Nov. 19 and 25.
The figures reported Friday are from cases and deaths reported by 4 p.m. Wednesday, with the state not providing an update on Thanksgiving.
Saturday’s update will provide figures for Thursday and Friday, and as such are expected to be significantly higher than usual.
The 101 newly reported deaths puts Minnesota’s death toll in November alone at 1,023, which is more than double the number of deaths reported in October (423).
Of the newly reported deaths, 64 were residents of long-term care facilities, who have accounted for 67.7% (2,355) of the 3,476 COVID-19 deaths in Minnesota.
The 5,698 positive results in Wednesday’s update were from a total of 55,853 completed tests, creating a daily test positivity rate of 10.2%.
Those completed tests were from 22,866 people. People are often tested more than once, so the test positivity rate when dividing positives by people tested is 24.9% today.
The World Health Organization recommended in May that a percent positive rate (total positives divided by total completed tests) of below 5% for at least two weeks is necessary to safely reopen the economy. That 5% threshold is based on total positives divided by total tests.
According to Johns Hopkins University, Minnesota’s percent positive over the past seven days is 11.64%.
Statewide:
- Total tests: 4,012,802 (up from 3,956,949)
- People tested: 2,420,584 (up from 2,397,718)
- Positive cases: 295,001 (up from 289,303)
- Deaths: 3,476 – 66 of which are “probable*” (up from 3,375)
- Active cases: 50,109 (up from 48,583)
- Patients no longer requiring isolation: 244,982 (up from 240,720)
