Roseau County 188 Positive Cases; with 10 new cases reported today; 35 ACTIVE Cases; 153 having recovered (out of isolation).
The World Health Organization says that a 14-day positive test rate of below 5 percent is the key to keeping businesses open.
A day after Minnesota set a single-day record for COVID-19 cases with 2,287, Minnesota’s numbers dropped with 1,704 positive tests, of which 10 were removed for a total of 1,694.
The MDH reported 27,145 diagnostic PCR tests and an additional 1,071 antigen tests for a total of 28,216 completed tests.
Those tests were from 14,647 people tested. As if often the case, patients are tested multiple times, so the more accurate reading for test positivity rate is based on the total number of people tested, which today is 11.56%.
The positivity rate when total cases is divided by total tests is 6%. Health experts say positivity rates need to be below the 5% mark to control the spread of the virus.
The five newly reported deaths pushes Minnesota’s COVID-19 death toll to 2,217, of which 1,560 have been residents of long-term care facilities.
Statewide:
- Total tests: 2,477,132 (up from 2,448,315)
- People tested: 1,661,351 (up from 1,646,704 )
- Positive cases: 121,090 (up from 119,396)
- Deaths: 2,217, nine of which are “probable*” (up from 2,212)
- Patients no longer requiring isolation: 106,774 (up from 105,120)
