Warroad, Minn. – November 16, 2020 – The 2021 William S. and Margaret I. Marvin Scholarship application is now open for qualified Warroad students to apply. Since 2007, Warroad high school students have been awarded scholarships to pursue two-year and four-year college degrees. This year, it is estimated that awards are $11,000 per year for 4-year; and $6,000 per year for 2-year.
In order to be considered for these awards, students must be enrolled as a full-time student at the Warroad High School for a minimum of two years to qualify. All awards are pro-rated based on the number of years of full-time attendance in grades 7-12. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0, actively volunteer within the community, and participate in school extracurricular activities.
This year, the scholarship application is available on the Scholarship America Hub to allow for an easier process. Students are encouraged to use https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/marvin-warroad/ to submit their applications. Since 2007, 273 scholarships have been awarded to Warroad High School students. In total, $6,790,797 have been given to help students achieve their dream of a 2-year or 4-year degree.
The William S. and Margaret I. Marvin Scholarship is administered by Scholarship America; with parent and student support offered by the WHS Guidance Counselor, Bridget Lindner. All WHS students meeting the criteria are encouraged to apply. Application deadline is February 16, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.
